Eligibility Criteria – Jim Shaw Scholarship Fund

To be considered for the Jim Shaw Scholarship Fund, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Be a graduating high school senior planning to enroll at an accredited college, university, or vocational/technical school within the United States.

• Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

• Be pursuing a degree in any field of study, with a demonstrated passion for learning, leadership, and community service.

• Exhibit leadership qualities and a strong commitment to making a positive impact in their community through extracurricular involvement, volunteer work, or academic initiatives.

• Submit a 500–1000 word essay describing their entrepreneurial aspirations and/or real estate interest and what motivates them to pursue higher education,

• Provide two letters of recommendation: one from a teacher or academic advisor and one from a community leader, employer, or mentor (non-family members).

• Complete the scholarship application form and submit all required materials by the published deadline.

Selection Process

All applications will be reviewed and evaluated based on the following criteria:

• Alignment with eligibility requirements

• Quality and thoughtfulness of the essay response

• Academic performance and accomplishments

• Demonstrated leadership and commitment to community service

• Financial need (as part of a holistic review process)
